Some already know what their top choice school is, while others are still trying to figure it out. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, the perfect way to get accepted to the school that supports your dreams is through college admissions counseling.

College admissions counseling creates a blueprint to help you get into your number one school.

This is true whether it is a college with rolling admissions or a college with a more competitive application process. To help you out, our high school counselors are here to provide you with customized college counseling, no matter where you are on your academic journey.

The best place to start when it comes to getting accepted into your number one school is: by checking the admissions requirements.

The sooner you know the requirements of your first-choice school, the better off you will be. This knowledge not only helps you understand what to expect when it comes time to apply, but it also helps you tailor your academic goals and extracurricular activities throughout your high school career. Admission requirements can largely vary depending on the college.

Typically, schools with rolling admissions only require a certain GPA and SAT/ACT score; but other schools might require essays, recommendation letters, and interviews. It is a good idea to know all of the admission requirements of your potential dream schools ahead of time to make sure that you can successfully meet these requirements when it is time to apply. You never want to be left blindsided!

Arguably, the next step is one of the most important ones: finding a college counselor.

A college counselor is an expert on the college application procedure and will be able to guide you through the entire process. The key to this step is that you not only want to find a college counselor but also a good one.

Empowerly’s college admissions counselors will work with you through every step of the process. Our community will even help you plan out the most suitable courses to take while you are finishing up your high school career, to give you the best chance possible for getting into your first choice.

Finally, you must follow through.

There are a few other steps you can take to help your chances of being accepted. For instance, applying early can help demonstrate your interest and show the school that you are serious about attending. You should also spend a lot of time on your college admissions essays if the school requires one. Your writing can help you stand out from the crowd.

Lastly, you’ll want to ace your interview if the school offers one.

Interviews are your chance to really impress the school and show them who you really are!

Navigating the college admission process can be nerve-racking, especially when it comes to applying to your favorite schools; but our counselors are here to help. Their goal is to make sure that you are successful by ensuring you have the proper materials when it is time to apply.

Our team of experts will help you prepare your essays, prep for your interviews, and review all of your final application materials. Our staff includes retired application reviewers from major colleges that will review your application as if they were still on the admissions board and provide helpful feedback.

The college application process can be intimidating, but with the guidance of our college counselors, you don’t have to do it alone.
