Frequently Asked Questions
What is AI?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science focused on creating systems or machines that can perform tasks typically requiring human intelligence. These tasks include learning, reasoning, problem-solving, understanding natural language, recognizing patterns, and even decision-making.
AI is used in a wide range of applications—from virtual assistants and recommendation systems to self-driving cars and advanced medical diagnostics—often relying on machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks to analyze data and improve over time without explicit programming.
At Empowerly, we’re excited to offer our AI Scholar Program, giving students grades in 7-12 valuable experience in an area that will only continue to grow more prominent in the modern world. For questions about our AI Scholar Program, schedule a free consultation with one of our admissions experts and they’d be happy to share more about the program and our services.
Why is AI important in education?
For students, AI personalizes learning experiences by adapting to individual needs and providing real-time feedback. For educators, it can automate administrative tasks, assist with individualized tutoring, and enhance student engagement with interactive tools. By training AI systems on education data, educators can more effectively identify learning gaps, fine-tune tailored instruction plans, and ultimately, improve learning outcomes.
With the presence of AI expected to grow in everyday life, students who pursue work in this technology will have a competitive advantage in college-level work and future career paths.
Is it too early or too late to get into the AI Scholar Program?
Absolutely not! Empowerly’s AI Scholar Program is open to students in grades 7-12 who are interested in learning about the latest in Artificial Intelligence technology.
Currently, we offer AISP cohorts year-round (Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter). academic year cohorts (Spring & Fall) are hosted over 10 weeks while non-academic year cohorts (Summer & Winter) are hosted Monday through Friday for two weeks. All cohorts provide 25 hours of instruction.
Please note, AISP is not offered on a rolling basis and there are specific start and end dates to each AISP cohort. Check with your enrollment specialist to learn more.
