The first step is to schedule a free consultation with our enrollment team. These are 30-minute meetings conducted online or over the phone designed to introduce you to the Empowerly program and provide an overview of how Empowerly can help you. If you’ve already had your consultation, we are excited for you to join the Empowerly community! You will receive a more detailed email from our enrollment team, but the basic steps to signing up are:
1) Complete the counselor matching form.
2) Complete your online registration.
3) Get matched with your counselor.
4) Confirm your package and start date with the enrollment team for final payment.
After you register, we will send over your counselor’s calendar link for you to schedule your first meeting. We will also share all counseling materials to prepare for the first meeting.
We recommend that students sign up as soon as possible, even freshman, so our college counselors can guide their student through all four years of high school. This allows us to start fostering study skills and develop a compelling narrative right from the start. All years are important for college admissions, and you don’t want to waste any time—or miss an important opportunity to stand out. We work with students as young as middle school, but the majority of our students come to us in sophomore (10th) or junior (11th) year of high school. Don’t fret if you’re already applying—it’s not too late to polish your application materials to make the most of your story.
Given the importance of a strong relationship between a student and their college counselor, we understand the desire many students have to meet with their counselor before joining the program. We are often able to arrange introductory meetings, so be sure to ask during your free consultation.
Package pricing is very dependent on how often you want to meet with your college counselor. For further information, please feel free to email us at email@example.com.
We offer a number of different payment options and plans for your convenience. We can discuss the options that are best for you during your free consultation.
An independent college counseling team serves to supplement your school’s resources, provide personalized individual guidance, and help you navigate the jungle of contradictory information with confidence. One-size-fits-all resources just won’t cut it in today’s competitive admissions landscape… We’re here to explain the steps you need to start taking now, and stay with you through the entire process from start to finish. Less guesswork, more results! However, the role of your counselor is not to guarantee your acceptance to a given school, encourage you to falsify your materials, or contact an admissions department on your behalf. These actions put your student at risk of legal consequences and do not align with our values and integrity. Ultimately, we want to help empower your future.
All our meetings take place online via video chat. This allows for better scheduling flexibility and better matches between counselors and applicants since they will not be constrained by physical location. Integrating virtual sessions with our online system system means that your counselor is more accessible and eliminates the travel time for students—so you can focus on what matters most.
Yes! Our comprehensive packages already include writing support through your counselor and access to our expert Editor Team. Crafting the “perfect college essay” is an art, and we know how challenging it can be! Additionally, if you’re looking for assistance with just your writing and no other aspects of the college admissions process, we can also customize a Writing Specialist Package tailored to focus on writing-only resources.
We get it—sometimes, the numbers matter. While our counselors don’t specialize in test-specific or class-specific academic tutoring, we always equip students with resources to succeed on all fronts. Your counselor can analyze your overall profile to highlight areas you require additional support and create a strategic plan for improvement. That plan might include choosing the right test for you, planning when to schedule test dates or retakes, recommending test prep materials, advising your class selection, or setting study goals.
Yes, we do. We know that college transfers and graduate students require a slightly different touch, but much of the expertise required will be the same. During your free consultation, we can determine what level of support you need and which of our counselors will be able to provide the best perspective on your individual journey. Many of our counselors have experience at multiple academic institutions themselves and are willing to customize a package to fit your needs!
One of the unique advantages to Empowerly is our team of resources. You can access the portal 24/7 for exclusive online courses, webinars, research requests, and the executive team. Additionally, you can email your counselor with your concerns, and we will respond within 24 hours.
Our plans also include meetings between parents and the counselor. We recommend once a month, but you can customize your package to increase or decrease frequency as needed. You also have 24/7 access to a parent portal where you can track your child’s progress.
No, this decision is yours alone. You never need to disclose what support your receive to your high school or colleges, and neither will have access to that information. We mentor you to achieve your goals on your own two feet! Think of your counseling team like personal trainers that coach and encourage you while you prepare for a marathon. Our team shares information and tips that help you keep up with other competitive students, and ensure that you aren’t missing out on anything you need to know. In the end, we are here to help you find, develop, and present the best version of you.
The Empowerly difference lies in our personalized team-based approach. We give you the power of a network of successful individuals and “always on” resources to ensure you have all the tools to reach your fullest potential. While other college and career advising services rely on a single individual to give you all the guidance you seek, we find that this one-dimensional approach often isn’t enough for applicants’ success.
