Here’s some quick advance praise for Gelyna’s wise strategies below.

(Does this resonate with the kind of support you’re looking for?)

“Stressed out about applying for colleges? Amidst a global pandemic and all the current chaos in the world, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by it. Some of the apprehension may arise from looking at the overwhelming amount of things to do during the process. Don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered!”

Article featuring advice from Gelyna Price, of Empowerly College Counseling

If so, hop on over to Re:Set to read the rest. This isn’t an end-all, be-all course, but some handy tips to make sure you’re on track. If you have questions, come talk to us! We’re happy to help.

So you’ve got your college list sorted out – what’s next?

Beyond the list

Beyond being sure to organize your final college list, take a few moments to also establish your resume.

“Find a good resume template and start to add in your extracurricular experiences,” Price told Re:Set. “Focus on your individual strengths, leadership positions, and accomplishments.”

“Simply put, colleges want to know who you are, what you’ve done, and what you’re interested in doing or intend to do.”

You can ask for help.

Overall, that sounds like a pretty tall order for one application, doesn’t it? You can do it. We believe in you! And if you need help, we’re here. Our advisors and experts in the Empowerly network can provide the insights you’re looking for to improve your strength as a candidate.

If you need help selecting a summer program or guidance with the application process, make sure to reach out to a Empowerly college counselor.
