Are you about to embark on final years of your school journey? They are crucial and will play a major role in determining where and what you might study in college. The courses you take, the friends you make and activities you get involved in at your high school are all influencing factors. When considering which high school to attend, it’s important to choose one where you can thrive, encouraging academic and personal growth.
I recently offered to help my procrastination-prone younger brother edit his college applications. He brought his essays to me the night they were due, giving me his analysis of his own study skills: “I always do my assignments last-minute, and I’m doing fine,” which is ostensibly true—he’s a stellar high school student with impressive extracurriculars.
Many students and parents ask us what they should be doing in middle school to prepare or at least get ready for college admissions. Although it is too young to start working on many logistical aspects of applying to college, there are several steps students and parents can take to boost their chances of success in the process, find what they like to do, and grow into passionate people.

Middle school is finally over, and your child has just graduated! While students are getting ready for the summer, they also have the daunting task of choosing where to go to high school. Numerous students simply attend their local high school as it is close by and free to attend. However, many parents question whether a private school education gives their student an advantage when applying to colleges. There are an extensive amount of factors that parents must consider when helping their child decide between a private and public education. It is no easy choice, however in the end a student will always succeed if they put their best foot forward.
